Setting up a Minecraft Server on Windows
1. Prerequisites
- Windows 10 or 11
- Java 17 or later installed
- At least 4GB RAM available
- Stable internet connection and ofc brain ðŸ§
2. Download Server Files
- Visit the official Minecraft server download page
- Download the
server.jar file
- Create a new folder for your server (name it whatever you want)
- Move the
server.jar file into that folder
3. Initial Setup
- Create a batch file to run the server:
java -Xmx2G -Xms2G -jar server.jar nogui
- Run the batch file — a
eula.txt file will appear
- Open it, change
false to true, save it
- Run the batch again, your server should launch!
- Port forward (TCP 25565) if you're hosting for friends
